HASSETT AWARD FOR LEADERSHIP 2008

2008’s Hassett Award for Junior Leadership in RAR was presented to Corporal Peter Majewski of 2RAR at the RAR Foundation’s Annual Foundation Dinner, held at the Royal Military College Officers' Mess in November 2008.

June 2008 saw the passing of the Hassett Award’s patron; General Sir Francis Hassett who entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon aged 16, graduating in 1938, and whose military career spanned more than 42 years. General Hassett performed a wide variety of roles, including commanding 3RAR at the iconic battle of Maryang San in Korea, and rising to become Chief of the Defence Force Staff.
The Hassett Award consists of a perpetual trophy held at the unit of the winner, and an individual trophy presented by the RAR Foundation. Naked Army is an ongoing sponsor the Hassett Award trophies and honoured to attend the annual RAR Foundation dinner event.
