NAKED ARMY’s capability includes creation and production of perpetual monumental sculpts for DEFENCE and the greater Australian community.
These images show the OPERATOR monument in its temporary home at Hindmarsh Centre before its permanent placement in a memorial garden setting.
The sculpture was created by NAKED ARMY during 2011, and was cast by our joint venture partner Australian Bronze.
Our services include monumental sculptures; solid or hollow cast bronze commemorative pieces for perpetual outdoor display, including the centrepiece for the Australian memorial at the Tarin Kot Multi-National Base, a foundry-cast solid bronze statue of a modern day Australian infantryman, which NAKED ARMY created for the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force. The sculpture was based on Naked Army’s DIGGER 2009 figurine.

Naked Army’s projects include commissions & joint ventures for ADF units while deployed. Naked Army created a 2 figurine master sculpture of a 7RAR trooper and his ANA (Afghan National Army) counterpart as a foundry-cast, solid bronze commemorative piece.
The 7RAR trooper study, SENTINEL, the figurine was also produced as a presentation piece to their Afghan colleagues, and as an award and collectable for 7RAR members on their return to Australia.
The sculpture included capturing all details of the subject’s gear; from his AUSTEYR F88 rifle, down to his Enhanced Combat Helmet and Tiered Body Armour System [TBAS].
Working in close conjunction with the School of Infantry’s Sniper School, Singleton, NAKED ARMY created a sculpture representing an Australian Regular Army sniper returning from an overwatch mission in Uruzgan Province, Southern Afghanistan. Extensive collaboration with Sniper School resulted in a project that demonstrates thorough technical understanding and critical attention to detail. Completed in 2012, SNIPER is available through the Corps Shop and also at Naked Army retailers.
Extensive technical support and reference material from Sniper School yields realistic results.
Platypus Outdoors Group, SASR, and SASSPORT combined to commission this contemporary SASR ‘TROOPER’ 12.5" cold cast figurine.
The impression represents a trooper on Operations in Afghanistan.
Based on typically used gear, he carries the M4A1, an 870 shotgun slung under arm, and full patrol order. His fatigues are contoured to represent either DPCU or DPDU camouflage pattern.
With 12 months of creation and development time, this cold-cast bronze impression is based on detailed information and technical expertise from SASSPORT and PLATATAC (Platypus Outdoors Group) and features illustrated box art by renowned UK military artist Kevin Lyles.

No one figurine could ever represent Special Forces personnel fighting in the Vietnam conflict. Our first Vietnam War commission is a mid-war SASR impression; weighed down with a full patrol load; lightweight ARVN rucksack, M56 rig, smoke and percussion grenades, rigger-made SASR SLR ammunition pouches, and a modified Australian issue L1A1 SLR rifle. The cold cast sculpture includes ‘etched’ camo ERDL fatigues and US issue J-boots, and was commissioned by PLATATAC & SASSPORT for the Australian Special Forces community.
NAKED ARMY also supports organisations including RAR Foundation, and regularly sponsors The Hasset Award for Junior Leadership, as well as sponsoring philanthropic activities conducted by 5/6 RVR.
