DEMONSTRATED CAPABILITY – FOR DEFENCE & COMMUNITY

NAKED ARMY was established in 2005, with the aim of creating tangible connections for today’s and future generations with Australia’s rich military heritage.  We produce monumental sculptures and museum-grade commemorative collectable figurines, and have successfully completed commemorative sculpture works for Defence, Returned & Services League, Local Government and community clients.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS: We work in partnership with our clients to see their projects realised. Monumental sculpture commissions include the Cameron Baird VC MG sculpture at Currumbin RSL, Queensland, and the centrepiece for Bundaberg’s Bargara Foreshore Memorial.

DEFENCE PROJECTS: We work equally well with units when based in Australia or deployed. NAKED ARMY has completed monumental sculpture for units including SOCOMD/2CDO and SASR, and our sculptures have been installed as far afield as the Multinational Base at Tarin Kot, Afghanistan.

NAKED ARMY products are regularly used by DEFENCE leaders and units as presentation pieces and awards. We have completed projects for ADF units including 2RAR, 7RAR, School Of Infantry, RMC Duntroon, SOCOMD, 2CDO, and SASR. NAKED ARMY is a recognised DEFENCE supplier.

REMEMBERING OUR FALLEN THROUGH SCULPTURE

Corporal Cameron Baird VC MG served in Afghanistan in the Uruzgan province, where his heroic actions made him the 100th recipient of the Victoria Cross for Australia, awarded posthumously.
After intensive fund-raising efforts by Cam’s Cause, and with the support of Currumbin RSL, the 2.2 metre bronze sculpture - lifted into place by Corporal Baird’s mates - was officially unveiled by Doug and Kaye Baird and His Excellency the Honorable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, in November 2016.

CREATING COMMEMORATIVE SCULPTURES & CENTREPIECES

Bundaberg Council’s vision was to have an Anzac Memorial with a removable sculpture element. The hand-sculpted Lee Enfield rifle, bayonet & slouch hat are placed specifically for commemoration ceremonies.
